One of the primary purposes of the Youth Aid Council is to help prevent or relieve extreme poverty or financial hardship of young people in need.

The organisation plans its activities gradually around the whole United Kingdom but focuses particularly on London. This is done by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training and healthcare projects and schemes and all necessary support to individuals. The support of the Youth Aid Council is designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income in order to be self-sufficient in their communities.

The Youth Aid Council fight against poverty in the UK

Today 31% of children are living in poverty in the UK. Nearly three-quarters of children in poverty now coming from a working household. Most alarming is the continuing increase in in-work poverty. Over 72% of poor children now living in working families.ย For these reasons, one of the primary purposes ofย the Youth Aid Council is to help prevent or relieve extreme poverty or financial hardshipย for young people in need.
